How to: Create an abstract style tray with Pebeo Crystal Resin

What you'll need

  1. A plain wooden tray
  2. Scissors
  3. A large paint brush 
  4. A plastic cup
  5. Acrylic paint 
  6. Multicoloured paper
  7. Pebeo Gedeo Crystal Resin

STEP ONE 

Paint the bottom of the tray with your chosen acrylic paint - you can choose any colour but it is best to choose a subtle colour so the abstract artwork will be the focus of your tray design! Then set aside and allow the paint to dry.

STEP TWO

Cut out abstract shapes from the different coloured paper, creating a variety of shapes and sizes. 

STEP THREE

Place the shapes across the bottom of the tray. 

STEP FOUR 

Now it's time to prepare your resin. Put 2 parts resin to 1 part hardener into your plastic cup and stir until the mixture is completely transparent. 

STEP FIVE

Pour the resin over the bottom of the tray. You can use a small wooden stick to sprade the resin over the complete surface. 

STEP SIX 

The resin must be allowed to cure for 24 hours, it is recommended to cover the surface to protect it from dust. 

And there you go, you have your own unique abstract tray ready to use at home or give to someone for a special gift! Perfect for special occassions, such as Birthdays or Christmas!
