Lyra Pencils in action with Emanuele Dascanio
Posted by Cass Art on 29th May 2021
Lyra is known for its unique, high-quality pencils, extremely well made in a quality cedar wood casing, creamy, full of natural pigments and deep rich colours with a great shade selection, built to last and stand the test of time. Their story starts in Germany, where pencils were manufactured exclusively by carpenters in the 18th century. Due to the poor quality, carpenters were banned of the privilege of making pencils in the beginning of the 19th century and the Lyra Pencil Company was born shortly after, seizing the market opportunity for quality products, being today one of the oldest pencil brand trademarks in the world.
Emanuele Dascanio is a contemporary Italian artist who is able to create incredibly realistic graphite charcoal portraits vibrate with emotion and energy. Watch below and see his masterful application of these mediums combined with a deep connection to the subject result in images that fool the eye into thinking the objects are real.
