ABOUT POSCA

Launched in the early 80s, the POSCA paint marker was an immediate success among the artistic communities arising from urban cultures, and especially the Graffiti community.Graffiti artists very quickly adopted the marker, which met all their needs: convenient and efficient, an ideal way of always having paint in your pocket when you want to paint in the street and share your creation with the public.

They gave it real popularity, which gradually spread beyond the urban space. Studio artists began to go outside and try their hands at street art, while graffiti artists started working on canvas. These exchanges between one artistic community and another are the source of POSCA’s universal credibility, which has continued to win over new users ever since.

POSCA FAQs

ARE POSCA PENS HIGH QUALITY?

Posca pens are considered to be high-quality paint markers. These markers are known for their vibrant and opaque colours, versatility, and ease of use.

HOW LONG DOES A POSCA PEN LAST?

It's challenging to provide an exact timeframe for how long a Posca pen will last because it depends on these variables. However, as a rough estimate, a standard 1mm to 3mm Posca pen can last for several hours of continuous use. If you use it more sparingly for finer details, it may last longer.

DO YOU HAVE TO SEAL POSCA AFTER USAGE?

It is permanent with no real need for fixatives on porous materials such as wood, cardboard, fabric, pebbles, certain plastics and metals. For some uses (painting on canvas, customisation and decoration), you can use a fixative varnish to protect your creations for longer.

DO POSCA PAINT PENS BLEED?

Posca pens are known for their relatively low bleeding and smudging compared to traditional markers and other paint pens. However, the extent to which Posca paint pens bleed can depend on various factors, including the type of surface you are using, the paper quality, the amount of pressure applied when using the pen, and the specific techniques you use.

CAN YOU LAYER POSCA PENS?

Dense and opaque, POSCA paint is ideal for layering! Dark colours can be applied over light colours or light colours over dark. Thanks to its fast drying time, layering can be carried out with no smudges.
