Key Features:
Unique Pigments
Their pigments are renowned for their exceptional quality and vibrant characteristics. Crafted with precision and expertise, they offer an extensive range of unique colours that captivate artists with their brilliance and clarity. Renowned for their lightfastness and intensity, Daniel Smith paints are made using high-quality pigments sourced from around the globe, ensuring consistency and richness across their palette.
Quinacridones
Quinacridones are vibrant colours produced with modern technology. These synthetic organic compounds have a brilliance, lightfastness and clarity that traditional pigments cannot achieve. The Quinacridone family is a group of warm coloured paints. They range from yellow gold colours, through siennas and pinks, to deep violet shades. The chemical structure of these compounds yields the reddish colour that can be seen as an undertone in all these pigments.
Primatek
Also within the Daniel Smith range, there are 30 colours produced with pigments mined from the earth. These PrimaTek paints have minerals sourced from locations as far-flung as Brazil, Alaska, Australia, Canada and Africa. Colours that date back to prehistoric times are beautifully revived by Daniel Smith for artists working today. These minerals undergo a thorough process of extraction and refinement, resulting this range of colours displaying natural granulation that can therefore add depth and texture to the paintings.

ABOUT TOM
Tom started off his art career creating custom artwork on guitars using graffiti pens. Making a move towards a brush and more traditional mediums opened up a whole new world to Tom, and he hasn’t looked back since.
His work has become widely collected in the UK and more recently, internationally. He has been a highly commended finalist in the World renowned Wildlife Artist of the Year, on several occasions.
Whilst Tom loves painting a wide variety of subjects, especially if the light is doing something interesting, he is always drawn back to the place where his first two passions met; painting wildlife, in particular birds.
"The free-flowing and immediate nature of watercolour seems to lend itself so well to capturing the fleeting moments of wildlife; along with their movement, character and colours"
