EXHIBITION: TRANSFORMATIONS

Photography primarily records a ‘still image’, a brief slice of time. Long exposures, camera movement and post production can impose a more dynamic view on this essentially static medium. In this exhibition, Martin Edwards uses all of these to create several visually arresting series of photographs, a vibrant refashioning of the world as we see it.

Martin has been working in photography for over thirty years, as photographer, educator and exhibitor. He has shown work regularly in Bristol and beyond. Martin has an ongoing visual interest in the way photography inevitably distorts and alters the ‘real’ world as it translates it photographically, and uses this in his work to create images that are clearly representational while also a little removed from the way we would experience them live. martinedwardsphotography.co.uk
