The Journey of a Plastic Bottle to Canvas
PARTNERING WITH WASTE2WEAR
The journey from a plastic bottle to a canvas may be hard to conceptualise.
Below is a video from Waste2Wear, the factory that supports Liquitex in recycling plastic bottles and creating the raw materials for their sustainable canvas. Process wise, creating canvas from recycled materials is very similar to making textiles - several fashion brands use a similar method.
They truly are pioneers in the plastic recycling industry, even using blockchain technology to ensure their products can be tracked back to their origins. This ensures that every step of the supply chain – often involving removing plastic from developing countries – is as sustainable as possible.
