Synthetic watercolour brushes, they have incredibly soft fibres which feel closer than ever to natural sable, but with all the durability (not to mention the lower price) of a synthetic brush. They are a joy to paint with, and they are beautiful-looking too, with ferrules in gold plate and teak handles. The Series 009 is the Filbert version of the Pro Arte Prolene Plus Synthetic Brush.
